SAILING ALASKA 2007 Ch.7 Now we are on our way to Sitka and will be going through several narrows which is fun. It was nice to finally get to the place where we could look out to the Pacific. We found a nice place to anchor behind Beehive Island where there was just enough space for our two boats and in the morning we were on our way to Sitka. We had rave reviews from some folk we met along the way and yes, as we drew near we soon saw the beauty of this city of 9,000 and its "very friendly" people. We were very pleased there was space for us at the dock so we reserved three nights. We have had one day on foot touring the town and realize we will want three days to take in as many of the historical things as we can and some things like walking over the big bridge and a hike. Must run lots to do and see more about Sitka next time. Love to all, mom and dad Norm and Mary Lou,- Marg and Dave
