Then back out to the main channel and up thru' Fraser Reach where we took Ursula Channel to Bishop Bay where we went in to overnight and enjoy the Hot Springs. Nice to visit with the several boaters there and we did a trade for a couple small grayling fish and a small bag of prawn from an old timer fisherman. He got the best of the deal!  Marg. does better at garage sales then doing trades, me thinks! Fun!!  Got 12 nice big prawns "of our own".  We are getting closer to that secret spot on Grenville Channel where we hope to find those Alaska King Crab. I haven't even been able to catch a small cod or??  May 28 - Another lovely day, sunny and warm!! At the top of Ursula Channel we turned south down Verney Passage and across Douglas Channel to Hartley Bay. Does this place ring a bell to you?? - these were the good folk that helped with the rescue when the Queen of the North ferry hit nearby Gil Island and sank last year. Two went down with the ship. We spent three hours or so here - what a nice village!! Nicely kept houses and yards and friendly people. Impressed!!!  Went into the building where the Long House is on the top floor. This is where they brought the ferry people and looked after and fed them until they were able to leave. Nice visit with Mr. Bolton who keeps the gym spotless. Kids were all out of school for the day and a very friendly bunch.  I got separated from the "other five" while I was visiting with the "gym keeper" so just had to launch out on my own and see all there was to see and take lots of pictures. I am hoping to sell some of my prize pictures of the place - esp. of  the Long House, as the others forgot to take their cameras from the boat. Or maybe I can use them for trading power?  A beautiful sunny day! Good time!  From there we went passed where the ferry sank on Gil Island and found an anchoring spot on Fin Island where there is a big floating fishing lodge. Caught and cooked two more crabs. Next morning pulled anchor and got back into Wright Sound and turned northwest up Grenville Channel which leads 45 miles NW from Wright Sound and is part of the main Inner Passage route leading north toward Alaska. It has the appearance of a classic fjord and seldom gets serious seas. Travelled as far as Klewnuggit Inlet and up to the head of "East Inlet" to overnight and put traps down. Now this is supposed to be that secret place to catch King Crab and we didn't do so good!!  Dean did catch one - small, but neverless we weren't skunked. We did get seven nice "regular" ones so it's a busy time cooking and cleaning and not to say the least enjoying many delicious meals as we travel along. Always picking up as much prawn as we can eat as well. Every day is a wonderful new challenge and we are enjoying every moment!!
