The waters were much more challenging today with winds going against the current resulting in high swells at times – good old "Georgia Strait!! We sailed at times and motor sailed at times and most of that time I was glad to be on deck rather than in the galley. The whole time we were away we rarely had a nice sandy beach to walk on and enjoy, but this is it today. After anchoring, Marg, Annie and I wasted no time to get to this lovely beach and enjoyed scouting for driftwood and pretty shells and all the while Marg was bemoaning the fact that Carol couldn’t be with us. We phoned Aunt Marj tonight and she is missing us and will be very glad when we get home. It doesn’t help that today her niece’s husband in Tisdale passed away with cancer. We will be home as soon as possible.

Mary Lou has abandoned ship so the story must end. We did manage to get them to Northwest Bay where Ron picked them up. He almost missed them as he didn’t recognize his dad (it was only 2 1/2 months). It was so great having Mary Lou and Norm aboard, added lots of pounds and learned lots of fishing tips. Not saying who did what.

From Northwest Bay we sailed down to Nanaimo and spent a few days before heading back to Pender harbour on Aug 2.
